Uniting people with a global art project

JR, the French street artist, is launching a global art project, Inside Out, which aims to bring communities together. JR made the announcement yesterday in a presentation at TED, which has which awarded him the TED 2011 prize for the project.

JR and TED worked with Huge, which designed the website for the project. This allows participants to upload their own picture to the site in the style of JR, submit their own personal statement, and order a black & white poster to wheatpaste or hang in their communities.

They can then take a picture of the poster 'in the wild', and upload it back to the site, where visitors will be able to see where posters are around the world.
